Abstract:
Learning foreign languages through the implementation of new technology methods is gaining ground with increasingly more learners and educators turning to this type of learning and teaching. New desktop software and new mobile applications have been developed, attracting the interest of more learners. The use of mobile devices in the learning process of foreign languages is gaining ground with researchers showing particular interest in this area. Digital storytelling is a pedagogical approach that combines technology and storytelling to enhance language learning. In the context of teaching French as a foreign language, this paper discusses the benefits of using digital storytelling in the language classroom. This includes improved motivation and engagement, as well as the potential challenges and limitations of this teaching method. Moreover, it focuses on the design and creation of an e-book that incorporates digital storytelling elements to support language learning. The steps to design and create the e-book are outlined, including determining the objectives, choosing a platform, planning the content, incorporating interactive elements, and reviewing and revising the final product. The paper concludes that by following these steps, a well-designed e-book can support the teaching of French as a foreign language and enhance the language learning experience for students.
