Abstract:
Nowadays technology has become a prominent variable in several education programs. It covers a wide spectrum from a lecture recording to a MOOC, from a brief online recording to an official graduate course from an accredited university. Due to the velocity of expansion and diversity of technology-based education programs, it is required a methodology to assist stakeholders in understanding how to deal with such a rich variety in global setting where new technologies are revolutionizing how we teach and learn. On this work, a comprehensive list of technology-based education programs and their customers is presented. Afterwards, it is designed a framework to classify those programs and to evaluate their impact based on selected variables. As a result, the framework features a procedure to grasp the complexity of technology-based education programs and to assess their efficiency of satisfying diverse market segments.
