Abstract:

In this paper the author, who often in his scientific works dealt with human capital, would like to underline the definitions and specifications of the term capital. The concepts of human development and sustainable development are defined. In particular, this paper intends to demonstrate the importance of the new concept of social capital, highlighting the role of Public Institutions related to the economic development. In fact, this role has been quantified in the latest models of endogenous growth.
