Abstract:
Sexual harassment is one of the major issues in workplace relations today. It is also one of the areas that have received the most attention, especially, since women have entered the working environment in increasing numbers. This paper identifies Sexual harassment as an essential concern in the work place. The first part of the paper identifies that when sexual harassment is present, it violates every right of the victim, such as, the right of employment equality, the right to choose, and what’s more, the right of privacy. The second part of the paper identifies that corporations should acknowledge its existence, act upon, and resolve it. Sexual Harassment comes in two forms - "quid pro quo" and "hostile working environment."
Regardless the form, sexual harassment is a problem which will be resolved only when the corporate world recognizes that sexual harassment is a moral problem and provides moral education for employees.
