Abstract:
In many Schools of Architecture there is still no deep concern about new concepts linked to sustainability, as well as other energy efficiency requirements for building construction. From a historical point of view, the objectives of architecture have been based on the solidity of the structure, the usefulness of the building and the beauty. However, nowadays it is important to consider other constructive aspects such as the energy consumption of the building, a better use of the environmental conditions of the surroundings, as well as a better use of water, less noise generation... Green roofs are a very important part of the buildings and, therefore, are a bet for the future in the programs of education of the architecture and the construction. Connecting ideas and reality is one of the main problems and difficulties for architecture students to carry out projects. The main aspects of technical construction are explained through hand drawing in 2D and 3D. Precisely, the drawing reflects the process from the idea to the reality. Therefore, the best measure to ensure the acceptance and dissemination of green roofs is education on sustainability in the classrooms of architecture schools. The learning methodology carried out is based on slate drawings, layer by layer and step by step, explaining in detail all the components of green roofs.
