This article discusses the issue of increasing the effectiveness of foreign language teaching by using multimedia technologies.Modern information technologies are increasingly part of our lives. One of the main parts of informatization of education is the use of information technologies in educational disciplines to enhance teaching effectiveness. One of the main pieces of information education is the use of information technologies in educational disciplines to improve the effectiveness of teaching. In the era of globalization specialists with knowledge of a foreign language are increasingly in demand, whether they areengineers, physicists, economists, programmers, doctors etc. Therefore, the main task for teachers is to prepare students creatively thinking, able to apply obtained knowledge and skills, able to argue and defend their point of view in a foreign language. In this respect, the modern teachers are developing various interactive teaching methods. Today, teachers of all educational institutions use information and, in particular, multimedia technology in teaching and organizational and pedagogical activities.

Use of multimedia technologies is the introduction of effective, high quality educational programs in the educational process by combining different types of educational information. The use of multimedia technologies involves consideration of individual characteristics of students, and, motivating them, develops a desire to gain knowledge.

Such learning technologies develop students ' cognitive skills, the ability to think creatively and to navigate in the information space.

In addition, information technologies greatly help teachers in their work. This is selection of additional text and illustrative material, creating cards with individual tasks and additional informative texts, creating an electronic database of monitoring, systematization and preservation of personal methodological developments, preparation of reporting documentation, design of educational stands, etc. All this allows lower costs over time to obtain a better result in the training of students.
