Abstract:

Law 34/2006, of 30 October, on access to the professions of lawyer and Procurator of the Court's main objective is to improve the professional training of solicitors and barristers in much of the administration of Justice collaborators so citizens have guaranteed an advice, a legal defense and a technical representation of quality as an essential element for the exercise of the fundamental right to effective judicial protection.

In accordance with the Royal Decree 775/2011, which develops law 34/2006, to achieve the goal of a professional training specially qualified law establishes a system of training in the excellence that has three basic pillars: the realization of a specific training course which have acquired a set of specific professional skills, the development of a period of work experience and an assessment of professional aptitude that culminates the training process prior to enrollment in the appropriate professional school.

Both the universities and schools of legal practice have a considerable margin of freedom in the configuration of courses of training and the internship period. Thus, by referring strictly to the formative period, the regulation is limited to establish essential foundations such as, for example, that curricula must be integrated by 60 ECTS credits and, of course, which must ensure the acquisition of the skills required for each profession. From those bases it flees from the imposition of a model closed in such a way that each entity may configure the respective masters and courses with a wide degree of autonomy.

In this respect, this communication will examine the problems raised by the implementation of the Master of law and their solutions
