Abstract:
At the University of Valencia a group of professors and teachers have constituted an academic team in order to develop a project related with on-line quizzes during the transition to the model compliant with the Bologna agreement. They work at different Science Schools (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and teach different but related disciplines. On-line quizzes were used to drive the students to study regularly, to develop problem solving skills and to make an assessment of the acquired knowledge. After a few academic years, they also allow to make a comparison between the scores obtained by students belonging to different years.
In this work we analyze the grades obtained by some students of first, second and third year at different Science Schools (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) at different academic years before and after the implantation of the Bologna agreement. We compare the academic results of students of the old degrees (“Licenciatura”) with the new ones (“Grado”) and make a track of the differences. There is an extended idea that students of new titles strive to do well, but as the years pass, the students' effort decreases and not try so hard.
