Abstract:
Macroeconomics is a theoretical and abstract subject, for this reason its teaching methodology should include tools to connect theory and economic reality. Thus, the student interest in the subject would be increased.

This paper describes an innovative teaching experience to enhance student’s learning. This experience is being carried out during 2013-2014 year in bilingual Business Administration and Management Degree and consists in using jointly both real cases analysis and lectures for Macroeconomics classes. Specifically, newsclips has been used for the presentation of real cases. The methodology combines the reading and analysis of news in English during the course. Each piece of news is presented in audio format at the beginning of each class to introduce the topic to be discussed during the session; moreover the piece of news is also provided written. We expect that through this methodology students will be able to realize that theoretical macroeconomic concepts have application in the business environment and also to become familiar with macroeconomic terms in English. The usefulness of this teaching practice to improve the teaching-learning process is shown through the assessment made by student’s survey at the end of the course.
