Abstract:
Macroeconomics is a discipline whose study presents some level of difficulty because of the analytical and graphical framework employed, but it is fully connected to the economic reality that it tries to explain. The use of the case method as part of the teaching methodology for Macroeconomics can be helpful to build bridges between the theoretical analysis and the economic environment, motivating students to become more interested in the subject and encouraging more effective learning through the discussion and interaction between them.
This paper describes the implementation of the case method in Macroeconomics, a second-year subject in the Degree of Business Administration and Management offered by the University of Cadiz. More specifically, this paper presents a variant of the case method in which both audiovisual and written materials are used. The aim of this project is to evaluate the contribution of this teaching tool to improve the learning/teaching process in Macroeconomics, through the analysis of results obtained from a student survey in which students express their opinions about the role of this teaching tool in achieving more effectiveness of the learning process. Keywords:
