Abstract:
Today, educational reforms place students at the centre of the teaching-learning process. From this approach, the Project for Innovation and Good Teaching Practices entitled "Active methodologies and good practices in Higher Education: The student as the axis of the teaching-learning process (23_24_1_41), made up of a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff from various Andalusian universities, is being developed.

Within this framework, a pilot study has been carried out in the 2022/2023 school year in the subject "Educational Theories in Early Childhood Education" of the degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Almeria. In this study, the teacher guides, motivates and encourages the learning process through active methodologies supported by collaborative work, and the students create their own educational resources inspired by educational theories, connecting theory and practice.

The aim of this study was to find out the students' perception of teaching as a guide to their learning, and the repercussions of this on the qualification results.

The methodology has been carried out using a qualitative approach and comparative analysis between the degree of student satisfaction with the teaching work and the qualification results obtained by the students. The instrument used for the teaching assessment was a satisfaction survey and the student results were obtained by means of the final grade achieved in the subject. The results indicate that the students are highly satisfied with the teaching work as a guide in their learning, giving it an average rating of 4.60 points out of 5. In relation to the grades obtained by the students, 90% passed the subject, of which 35.2% obtained a really good grade, which denotes an above-average performance, and reflects that the role of the teaching staff as a guide to knowledge, enhances the ability and creativity of the students, favouring a solid understanding of the concepts and their practical interaction.
