Abstract:
The selection of the materials to be used during the design stages is the key factor that will determine in large part the manufacturing processes involved in achieving the expected results. The study of the different factors that influence the choice of manufacturing process for the functional requirements of a design involves designing an optimal and reliable design.

CES EduPack® Software Company from Granta Design is a database of properties of standard materials used for selection of materials, processes and product designs. The software offers the possibility of collating information about the characteristics and properties of various materials, in order to compare and select the most suitable materials for our purposes according to the parameters established for each case. Among other properties allows the possibility of collating, quickly and easily available information on a large number of properties of different materials to compare and select the most suitable for our purposes and forming processes thereof.

Among the objectives of this work is the design of a series of practices with different degrees of difficulty it is intended that students acquire fluency and skill in using the software and finally achieved easily to solve both simple cases and more complex problems and raise awareness of the importance of selecting both the material and the process suitable for the proposed product manufacturing.

In order to check the degree of acceptance of the students, once the internship was over, they were given a form with a series of questions that allow the authors of this work to draw conclusions.

The educational surveys carried out by the students have shown, in general a very good acceptance of CES EduPack by users, with high scores on most items. Perhaps a point to improve would be related to the difficulty of the exercises, which have been cataloged medium or medium-high difficulty.
