Abstract:
The School of Economics and Business Administration Sciences at the University of Castilla-La Mancha celebrates, since 2012, an innovative teaching proposal seminar that links two suitable and supplementary areas such as Theatre and Economics. Joining theatre plays, developing speaking and effective communication activities, being part of discussions in face-to-face or in telematic forums, students and teachers can share impressions, opinions, and theories about social and economic issues which are reflected in the society and, that they are also explicitly associated with the required competences in their bachelor’s degrees. The objective of this paper is multiple. Firstly, we evaluate this innovative teaching proposal since its origin (the academic year 2012-2013) to the academic year 2018-2019. To do so, we analyze the results of satisfaction surveys answered by the enrolled students and a sample of their working papers used to summarize their performance, feelings and opinions. Secondly, we also describe what activities were proposed in the different editions of the seminars. These activities could be useful to teachers or people interested in linking Theatre and Economics. Lastly, we offer suggestions and pieces of advice based on our experience in order to guarantee optimal performance of the seminar for both, organizers and enrolled students.
