Abstract:

The article is devoted to the problem of realia translation from the Spanish language into the Russian language. The concept of realia is widely spread in modern linguistic investigations, especially nowadays in the period of close international and cultural cooperation. Realia as a linguistic unit is extremely important in the process of language education and cultural heritage reception, but at the same time causes difficulties with its translation. In the field of Spanish realia several terms can be pointed out as the most complicated ones for translation. These terms refer to Spanish holidays (El Gordo, Nochebuena, Nochevieja), food (Turrón, Polvorón, Mantecado) or traditions (El Caga Tió, El Tió de Nadal) and other terms that haven’t got any equivalents in other cultures and languages. They are very important in the language learning process, because they contain the basis of the cultural identity and the world cultural heritage.
