Abstract:
Study the applicability of a translated Spanish version of the manual dexterity and balance sub-items of the BOTMP-2. Materials and Methods: A two-stage methodology was employed. In the first stage, the manual dexterity and balance sub-items of the original BOTMP-2 were translated to Spanish. The second stage was aimed at identifying their applicability. For this purpose 7 people between 5 and 14 years old were selected. Results: The BOTMP-2 was easy to digitalise, even though the terminology was ambiguous on certain instances, which caused some problems during the translation process. Once the battery was administered, it was observed that not all tests showed the same level of ease of use. Thus, the BOTMP-2 did not seem to be practical for everybody when the subjects’ characteristics were taken into consideration. Conclusion: The BOTMP-2 can easily be adjusted to the Spanish language and later digitalised. Nevertheless, the applicability of the manual dexterity and balance tests seems to depend on the type of sample population tested and its development level. Keywords:
