Abstract:
This paper describes a teaching experience mainly based on collaborative learning of students in the subject of Macroeconomics. Macroeconomics is a subject that students usually find complex. The broad theoretical and analytical background and its cumulative nature, requires that students prepare the subject and review the contents throughout the whole course, not only at the end of the semester. The main objective of this initiative is to motivate students to study regularly in order to facilitate the learning process. With the purpose to promote individual and teamwork, the activity is organised around two pillars. First, our students work in teams in the classroom to ellaborate an essay on a Macroeconomic issue. Second, students must take an online questionnaire through Moodle, that includes true/false and multiple choice questions. We also present the results obtained from a survey to students about the usefulness, strenghts and weaknesses of this experience.
