The world is rapidly changing into a global village with instant communication and information which enhances international relationships among citizens of different countries. However, the world is also becoming an increasingly dangerous place due to conflict between nations and between political factions within nations. The enviornment is at risk, which means we are at risk. Increase population on the planet, decrease of natural resources especially water is a threat to life as we know it. There is starvation in the world and hunger in industrialize nations such as the United States.

How do we prepare children in public education elementary through high school to continue on to higher education, graduate and continue on to graduate school? This is a challenge that has to be met if we as a global people are to not only survive, but thrive together in a world that we protect for future generations.

The presenter with power-point, discussion topics, and handouts will facilitate a session on the characteristics of a 21st Century Educator and how to obtain the necessary personal qualities and pedagogical skills required preparing children to become 21st Century Citizens and Leaders.
