A TRAINING EXPERIENCE ON THE ENHANCEMENT OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE THROUGH THE TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE AMONG STUDENTS OF DIFFERENT EDUCATIONAL CYCLES: THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE TIBER RIVER MOUTH

Abstract:
The paper aims to relate the educational experience carried out jointly by the Graduation Laboratory "Valorisation of Cultural Heritage", which has been active for five years in the Master's Degree Course in Architecture of the Bari Polytechnic and the IV classes of the High School of the International School John Paul II of Rome (Lido di Ostia).
As part of the activities of the Research Group "Analysis, Project and Recovery of the Cultural Landscape” of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the Polytechnic of Bari, has been produced (and is in continuous development) a protocol of analysis of the territorial realities from the point of view of the potential enhancement of the anthropic and landscape cultural heritage of the smaller centers in the key of their development as tourist-cultural attractors.
The Graduate Laboratory March 2018 - January 2019 was dedicated to the study for the enhancement of the urban centers of the Tiber mouth and their territorial background. The activity of the laboratory took place through a multi-criteria analysis of the territory and its emergencies, taking into consideration different aspects ranging from morphological characteristics, to historical stratification, to the use of the soil, to the productive and economic vocation of the area and its emergencies.
The work of the Graduate Laboratory, in the second period (September-October 2018), was connected with the inter-cycle orientation activity of the Polytechnic of Bari and of the International School Institute John Paul II of Rome. The "orientation" activity aims to make known to the students the formative model of university institutions in order to allow a conscious choice for their future studies.
The activity was managed through a workshop that had the participation of the students of the fourth class of secondary school together with the undergraduates in architecture. Under the coordination of the teaching staff of the Polytechnic and the John Paul II Institute, the workshop constituted the methodological moment of constructive and creative confrontation of the “young designers” who developed a coherent proposal for territorial transformation.
The graduating students of the Polytechnic of Bari, after a long analysis phase, have contributed, as a tutor to the scientific and methodological knowledge of the site (established in over three months of research). The students of the secondary school brought the knowledge about the territory's demanding application, composing, around the same table, the scientific and documental analysis with the direct perception of the site's population.
The tools adopted for the development of the final proposal of the Workshop were those of sustainable creative analysis through the application to the case study of a Social Business Model Canvas. The collective product of the work of secondary school and undergraduates students has led to a careful analysis of territorial values, identifying sustainable solutions at different time milestones in relation to an extremely complex problematic situation, which it was possible to unravel only by starting the work through a multi-criteria problem setting and a methodological reading of the opportunities and values offered by the territory, strictly linked to the problems and needs setting.Keywords:
