Abstract:
Usually industrial drawing courses in the field of engineering are focused on CAD modeling and two-dimensional graphic representation of industrial products. Mechanical engineering students learn graphical standards for industrial elements by means of repetitive geometrical problems. This methodology doesn’t focus in resolving design professional problems, discouraging the student in learning of standards. The paper presents the application of a learning model oriented to project solving into the field of industrial drawing, in which the engineering students, working in teams, must solve a real design mechanical problem proposed by the teacher. The objective of this methodology is to involve and to motivate the student in solving design problems working in a collaborative environment presenting as a result a portfolio of professional technical drawings. The results show an increase of the motivation in the students that have worked collaboratively, as well as an improvement of the learning results.
