Abstract:
Our working group is carrying out research into new models of evaluation and learning within the Educational Innovation Project “The application of e-portfolios in learning and assessment methods of university teaching”, directed by Dr. María Rosario Martín Briceño. This project forms part of the eighth edition of the Innovation in Education Program of the University Rey Juan Carlos.
In order to check if the evaluating methodology is better system than traditional method (which we would rather make use of), we have put in practice system of continuous evaluation through electronic portfolio. We have decided to introduce a system of evaluation and learning through e-portfolios in the Degree of Law at the University Rey Juan Carlos. Our aim is to encourage students to take a more active role in the learning process. With a busy program of activities and tests, the student must adopt an active attitude towards the subject material or run the risk of falling quickly and irreversibly behind. The great majority of our students have chosen the first option. Our students are using e-portfolios which have contributed to their learning process. The teacher is able to monitor the progression of the students and to oblige them to maintain their studies up to date.
In order to evaluate the course we have proposed different activities that will take place during the term. These activities are listed below: teamworks, on-line tests and individual works.
