Abstract:
We carry out research into new models of evaluation and learning within the Educational Innovation Projects at University Rey Juan Carlos. Among them, we have to stand out the next Proyects: “Competence Learning and Evaluation methods in University Education”, “Generic Continuous Evaluation Models”, both of them directed by Dr. Sanjiv Prashar and “The application of e-portfolio in learning and assessment method of University teaching”, directed by Dra. María Rosario Martín-Briceño.
Our aim has been to encourage the students to take a more active part in the learning process. In order to obtain this goal we have decided to introduce a system of competence evaluation in different subjects and degrees at the University Rey Juan Carlos: from law and economic degrees to science degrees. We have wanted to promote autonomous learning of the student, to optimize student efficiency and to reduce academic failure and dropout rates. Our intention has always been to introduce innovative teaching methods which will lead to a constant participation of the student in the development of both teaching and learning aspects. We have analyzed some keys generic competences: “teamwork” and “oral and written communication”. As well we have put in practice a lot of tools as method of continuous assessment in different courses taught in the University Rey Juan Carlos, and we have used the e-portfolios which have contributed to their learning process. Keywords:
Innovative Teaching, Higher Education, Continuous Assessment, teamwork and e-portfolio.
