Abstract:
The setting of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) requires the rethinking of the organization of university studies. Postgraduate studies must meet the rising demand in specific studies. In the Translation field, according to the White Paper on Bachelor's Degree programs in Translation and Interpreting, translation studies have to be placed in the current context of globalization and internationalization. The textual production on an international scale is constantly increasing, becomes multilingual and must be adapted to the realities of the culture it aims. This is where the expert in specialized translation comes into play. The objective of this study is to display the results obtained during the academic courses of 2013-2015 and 2015-2017, when was implemented the “Master’s degree in Specialized Translation. German/Spanish/French/English” of the Menéndez Pelayo International University and the ISTRAD. Concretely, the present conference exposes the evolution of the labor insertion rates for the graduates of this program, depending on the major subject they chose and their working language pairs.
