Abstract:
Background:
Multimedia materials are commonly used as a methodology in school education, whilst these resources are not very used in higher education. Digital educational materials can be considered a suitable option at the university context and, in this sense, the on-line teaching materials repository Open Course Ware (OCW) is a useful tool for assessing new concepts and techniques and thus improving learning patterns.

Aim:
To create on-line multimedia materials regarding the subject Public Health (University of Valencia, Spain) and to present them at the on-line repository OCW, in order to improve knowledgment and accesibility to information for our pupils.

Material and methods:
To carry out this activity, several multimedia materials were created, including presentations, images, graphics, texts, tables and concept maps. In total, 15 presentations were created, reviewed and finally presented at the on-line repository OCW. All students were informed about this project and therefore asynchronous work was possible at any time depending on student´s preferences.

Results:
This abstract presents the teaching materials obtained, regarding the design of several multimedia materials about Public Health. We expect that techniques and skills of students will improve due to the asynchronous use of these online resources, as well as a higher interest and a direct access to the information should be reached.

Conclusion:
These new proposed multimedia tools can be considered a suitable option for students, in order to achieve learning objectives of teaching materials in physical therapy.

This project has been funded by the teaching innovation project "Salud Pública y Fisioterapia Comunitaria" 2014/2015 by the University of Valencia.
