Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising technology with transformative potential in various fields, including nurse education. This paper explores the integration of AI in nurse education and its impact on teaching and learning processes. It discusses the implementation of AI technologies such as virtual simulation, intelligent tutoring systems, data analysis, natural language processing, and clinical decision support in nurse education. The paper highlights the preconditions necessary for successful AI integration, including infrastructure, data availability, ethical considerations, domain expertise, collaboration, training, research, and student engagement. It emphasizes the benefits and challenges associated with each AI application in nurse education. Furthermore, the paper stressed the importance of addressing challenges related to implementation, data privacy, ethics, and student acceptance. Strategies such as clear policies and guidelines, robust data governance, transparency in algorithms, ethics education, user-centric design, continuous evaluation, education and training, collaboration, and regular communication are discussed as means to resolve these challenges. The paper underlines the essential competencies and skills that teachers should possess for efficient use of AI in nurse education, including technological proficiency, pedagogical knowledge, adaptability, data literacy, critical thinking, collaboration, ethical awareness, and student support. In conclusion, the paper underscores the potential of AI to enhance nurse education by improving clinical decision-making, personalizing learning experiences, predicting performance, providing adaptive learning platforms, leveraging natural language processing, and facilitating remote learning and telemedicine. It highlights the need for careful implementation, ethical considerations, and ongoing research to harness the full potential of AI in nurse education and ultimately enhance the knowledge and skills of future nurses. Keywords:
