Abstract:
By analyzing mankind's skills developed throughout his history, it is possible to identify the importance of manipulating available artifacts and materials. Historical facts such as the domain of natural resources, the Industrial Revolution, the advent of the Internet and the emergence of Artificial Intelligence corroborate the need for the evolution of society allied to technology. Therefore, it is essential to emphasize the protagonist role, within current history, of the one who creates and drives the narrative of technological progress: the mankind. In this process of recognizing oneself as an active subject, we identified the school as a starting point for the construction of artifacts and, consequently, the production of knowledge through Maker Culture. Added to this methodology, it is worth highlighting the importance of digital technologies as seen in the literature. Therefore, another theme emerges: Computational Thinking, in which there is the importance of developing skills and competences linked to this concept. The preparation of young people in High School, for the development of skills and for the mastery of new technologies, is a real concern in classrooms and integrates the daily life of educators. As a consequence, the focus is a constant questioning on how we should improve our pedagogical strategies to apply with our students, preparing young people for technological progress and mastering their new technologies. Thus we identified in order to facilitate the understanding of technologies and their applications, it is necessary to stimulate specific skills within the 4 pillars (decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms) of Computational Thinking. The combination of these skills with the Maker culture methodology led us to the proposal of a kit, ROBOT-SOLUTION, composed of pedagogical resources and artifacts, cut in a laser machine by means of Computer Numerical Command, which guide teachers and students of High School of a public school in Manaus, in the Brazilian state of Amazonas, to practice Computational Thinking in specific activities on Robotics. The combination of different resources aims to expand different areas of knowledge. As a pedagogical contribution we have lesson plans, presentation slides and manuals with the theoretical approach of each robotic project, to apply the "learning-by-doing culture", complement the kit also, explanatory videos, parts of the robotics projetct developed in the laser machine, besides the possibility of incorporating functionalities to projects using electronic resources with Arduino. Coordinated practical applications provide moments of creativity, collaboration and dealing with technological resources necessary for future professions with technological progress. The results obtained with the application of the kit in this public High School show the feasibility of this proposal. Keywords:
