HEALTHCARE CURRICULUM PRIORITIES TO ENHANCE DIGITAL SKILLS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract:
The expanding interest for medical care administrations driven by segment shifts all through Europe will build the quantity of occupations and necessary abilities of healthcare area experts. In the current European Union technological context, a correct approach of eHealth issue can also fundamentally change the relationships between patients and healthcare professionals, increasing access to services, regardless of national boundaries intended to ensure as far as possible compliance with European interoperability requirements. The need for computerized abilities belonging to medical care experts is recognized at European Union level. The DIGI4ME Erasmus+ project proposes to offer advanced digital abilities trainings for medical professionals, European Union Educational Institutes, Vocational Education and Trainings, Health Care Associations, along with important enterprises trade abilities and experience. They are exemplified in an integrated system to further develop digital skills all over European countries. At first, the content of the courses is characterized by deciding the computerized abilities which each healthcare proficient user should have. This is useful for them to utilize eHealth digital solutions for their maximum capacity after the check of particular instructive requirements of doctors, operators and experts regarding the advanced innovation of clinical imaging equipment. Project partners foster client adjusted preparing modules on particular settings concerning advanced image handling and organization. The settings involve late changes for academic scene of healthcare distance learning with the utilization of inventive Vocational Open Online Courses (VOOCs) for digital skills on healthcare area themes like clinical imaging, Big Data and databases.
The current paper analyses the instructional design and curriculum priorities of VOOCs designed for medical staff based on a survey. The answers were collected from over 300 healthcare professionals from all over Europe. The survey regarded the instructional design and curriculum for digital skills acquisition of hardware interaction, DICOM standard and functions, medical imaging processing tools, digital technologies for collaboration and sharing, database management and digital Big Data analysis. The results of the survey showed that most of the interviewed persons are interested in knowing more about DICOM functions, qualitative and quantitative analysis of medical imaging processing tools, compression on images and removal of patient information from medical image data in order to anonymize it. The themes which appealed were usage of data types, constraints, checks, tables, views, indexes, queries with join, subqueries, along with MapReduce, Spark, Hive to manage large volumes of structured and unstructured big volumes of data. The knowledge gathered from VOOCs will be transferred to medicine students who study in European Union, such that they will be better prepared for future technologies.Keywords:
