Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed many inadequacies in HEA (higher education), such as the computers needed for online education, the supportive environments needed to focus on learning, up to the misalignment between resources and needs. Although face-to-face lectures have been replaced with online learning with some success, it has not been so easy in the case of subjects that require experimental practices, such as Chemistry or Materials Science.

In the department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the University of the Basque Country, Euskal Herrko Unibertsitatea, UPV/EHU, professors who teach in degrees in Engineering and Construction, have developed videos on laboratory practices of the subjects Chemistry and Science of the Materials. The videos are shown to the students before doing the lab practice. Besides, in these times they have served to the confined students for knowing the practices that were carried out in the lab.

In this work, the tools that have been used to make the videos and the results of the use of them in the teaching of Materials Science and Construction Materials for laboratory practices will be shown.
