Abstract:
The University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) has developed the Campus Bizia Lab programme as an initiative derived from the Project Erasmus University Educators for Sustainable Development. The aim of the initiative has been to promote a collaborative process between academic staff, service and administrative staff and students, creating a transdisciplinary community to respond to sustainability challenges within the university. In the framework of the programme, two research projects have been developed by professors of EIG and students of the Grade of Technical Architecture and Civil Engineering. The aim of the first project was the environmental evaluation of the four campuses of the UPV/EHU and several refurbishment scenarios were also proposed to carry out in the campuses in the next few years. In the second project, a study of the use of cementitious residues generated in the laboratory practices of the subject Science of the Materials as aggregates for concrete is carried out. In the present work, the results of both experiences will be presented.
