Abstract:
Serious games designed with a pedagogical purpose are useful didactic tools to reinforce the teaching-learning process of the students and to support the teaching methods of the teachers. The present work is part of a long-term project involving research in education and technology that will result in the proposal of an educational program based on a software architecture for elementary school students of 3th and 6th grades enrolled to the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) in Mexico. One of the objectives is to use serious games with a didactic and pedagogical purpose using mobile devices as tools, allowing us to stimulate the following activities: Audio and visual perception, to benefit from the improvement of literacy, logical abilities and reasoning with students.

The elements that are based on the design of the architecture are the administration, monitoring and analysis of data obtained from videogames, emphasizing the implementation of an educational platform so that parents, tutors and teachers can observe monitoring records and the evaluation of the educational process of the child, generate strategies to support their cognitive development associated with learning to read, write and logical-mathematical thinking at the primary level. A web application is proposed to facilitate the monitoring of video games.
