Abstract:
It is very important to constantly come up with new teaching techniques and exercises. Several tools are getting involved in the education process, including the "bricks" from the world famous Lego company. These have proven to be a great educational tool, however they are not being widely used in higher education institutions.
I am introducing a specific learning exercise using Lego, oriented towards innovation and its importance in business. I have been developing and perfecting this exercise for more than 2 years based on feedback from the students involved. More than 500 university students from 4 universities in 3 countries have taken part in the exercise and provided me with valuable data. I collected this data from students in a form of questionnaire, immediately after exercising in their classes. Based on these results I can state that this particular Lego Innovation Exercise is an effective and fun education method.
This is the first paper where I am presenting this educational method. The aim of the paper is to describe the method in detail and back up the method by presenting results gathered in vast practical testing research. I believe this paper can serve as a source of inspiration for other educators who are willing to introduce interesting and effective teaching methods, in business education area, but also in other fields.
