Abstract:
Vocational education is a dimension of education in which individual or personal potential is used. National values and curricula of vocational schools were analyzed in the European project Leonardo da Vinci, called EVIVE, among other countries as Germany – the leader of the project, United Kingdom, Romania, France, Turkey and Bulgary, in which we take a part and we considered that it will be an interesting thing to share this experience with the others. Intending to create a common European curriculum for vocational schools, establishing common concepts/competences and implementing, seminars was careful planning to be worthwhile. The link among values was made by finding one common definition of the value, by the characteristics of it, by finding methods of teaching, by the strategies and didactical supports. The European Shared Values Curriculum consists of five modules and an approximate total teaching time of between 100 and 150 teaching hours. The main result is the proposed modules of the common curriculum: creating value awareness, values in the neighborhood and the social environment, understanding foreign values, experiencing values and Living European values. Each module will consists of a descriptive part and an additional part with hints about the teaching content and the teaching methods as didactical support for the teachers using this curriculum to prepare their learning scenarios and course.
