Abstract:
The new Degree in Natural Environmental Engineering from the School of Forestry and Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Madrid (UPM), has been implemented along the last academic year 2010-2011. The objectives of this degree are to train professionals with a solid scientific and technological education in the field of management, conservation and protection of the natural environment. The purpose of this paper is to present the coordination process organizing the second year of the degree for the next academic year 2011-2012. The main goal of these experiences, which have financial support from the University (Innovation Projects), is to carry out a complete analysis of the academic features that will be necessary to organize the next course. Student profiles are also very important, providing a complete picture of the students and allowing the improvement of the learning process. The project integrates many trainers of the subjects, increasing the coordination between them and promoting methodologies of educational innovation.The number of lecturers, subjects and departments involved in the project is very important and this fact will allow the results to have a significant meaning. In the present paper the results and the most important conclusions of these experiences are exposed.
