Abstract:
The use of vertical greenery systems (VGS) and green roofs in their application in energy optimization, climate regulation, and urban development in combination with the aesthetic aspects is a proposed as a good solution to fulfil sustainability requirements, especially in large cities and warm climates.

This paper discusses findings, and it provides empirical support for effects of greening systems on the physical and mental health of occupants. It also seeks to review mixed methods, questionnaires, and surveys in order to develop methods for maximizing the influence of greening strategies and provide ultimate inhabitant comfort.

In addition, this work analyses the existence of differences towards VGS and green roofs originating from gender-based different approaches and perceptions as experienced and manifested by women and men.

According to the findings, it seems that women have stronger environmental concerns and commitment to greening programs than men, which suggests that women have a greater potential and willingness to be engaged in green issues.

Understanding the health functions and gender-oriented behaviour is important for education and greening policies in different building industry operations. Besides, the importance of adopting innovation and green technologies in buildings according to their inhabitants' demands requires further attention and study.
