Abstract:
The contribution is aimed at a new phenomenon – digital literacy, which is connected with the application of information and comunication technologies (ICT) by children since early childhood period. The base of the paper is a survey study in relation to definition and fixing down of this concept- It comes out from the basic concept of the digital literacy, which was pregnantly comprehended by Paul Gilster in 1997. The aim of the contribution is to give the survey of researches and studies, which were aimed at the application (use,exploitation) of ICT by the children of pre-school age. It tries, on the base of analyzed researches to render possibilities, offered. Digital literacy is a concept that is clarified, there are some definitions. Digital literacy is being tested, but it is always literate subjects. In our interest, children of preschool age are working with technologies. That is why we ask ourselves: How can digital literacy be affected by these children? The article tries to find an answer and present a factory that we should take into account when defining the term digital literacy.
