Abstract:
This paper focuses on the use of tablets with children of preschool age with special educational needs. The aim of the research was to explore the use of tablet devices such as expanding into the Czech special education. Unstandardized questionnaires were chosen as the basic research technique. Respondents were parents of children with special educational needs. We focused on the technical parameters of the tablets (their operating systems), as well as on the actual use of tablets (applications), tracking benefits in terms of users, cooperation with teachers and other educational staff on movement patterns and the habits of children in the use of tablets. The results of the survey showed that the most commonly used tablet from the perspective of parents is the Apple iPad. Our experience also shows that the tablet is a great means of communication and an important motivator in all activities of the child.
