Abstract:
This paper aims to investigate there might be relationship between playing music and comprehension of teenagers. Data gathered through questioners. Each questioner includes 15 questions focusing on the elements which might disturb comprehension. The whole subjects were 80, including those who themselves were playing music (Universal & Traditional) and ranging in age from 13 to 19.
This papers concentrated on two questions:
- Does playing music have positive effects upon understanding of Teenagers?
- Does playing music decrease those elements which act as obstacle on comprehension?
The importance of these questions is that, as comprehension is one of the main concerns of the teenager students and they have many problem in understanding their lessons, playing music may remove these distracters, which decrease level of comprehension.
The result showed that there is a positive relationship between playing music and comprehension. Also, music performance increases the level of comprehension by lowering the level of obstacles.
