Abstract:
Online education has become the primary form of teaching languages in the year 2020. Russia has been facing an impressive transformation of attitude towards people with special needs. Many of them were involved in various educational programs or interaction with volunteers. Thus, during the challenging year, it was important not to leave such people without learning process (for a reason they are very attached to the routine), at the same time to create the safest and convenient conditions when educating them. The article shares an experience of a volunteer and a professor of MGIMO university teaching a 21-year-old person with Down Syndrome via Zoom during a year. The article states the aims of the course, depicts the tools used for the studies and evaluates the achieved goals. Moreover, it focuses on what a volunteer receives and learns due to such experience.
