Abstract:
Nowadays there are a large number of methods for learning languages aimed at forming and improving various skills such as speaking,listening and reading.The point is that labour market’s requirements to be met are constantly changing across the globe due to technological advances, which introduce new shifts to various spheres. Therefore, so-called traditional curriculum based on learning manuels is gradually becoming obsolete and is replaced by innovative ones underpinned by communicative methodology. In this regard the authors put a premium on team or individual projects in multiple variations (options).
The article focuses on the peculiarities of teaching professional foreign languages for third and fourth-year students enrolled in the PR department. The authors identify project activities in presentation form and case study as the focal points of classes, whose primary objectives are to learn to express opinions logically, as well as to improve public speaking skills in a foreign language. Various practical examples are presented in the article to depict the authors' points of view such as presentation, case study and, finally, Let's talk MGIMO (scientifically practical student conference in public speaking).Keywords:
