An individual–oriented approach to education has become consolidated in recent years. The main principles of this approach are individual students’ development as the active participant of the educational process and overall readiness to the long-life education, self-development, and self-perfection.
Modernization of the foreign languages training in Russia takes on special significance for Higher School due to the globalization processes today. Within the framework of vocational education mastering professional foreign language by the graduates of the economics universities as a means of professional communication and a tool of innovative experience is the necessity for the future specialists’ development.

The use of case study for some years enables us to analyze its effectiveness in the professional language training. In the course of research the method of analyzing theoretical material and practice of particular classes based on case study as well as method of testing students’ communicative ability was used. Case study has become the most important and significant method owing to the reformation of the educational system.

A lot of scholars underline the necessity of stimulating students’ intellectual activity. Emotional regulation of the students’ mental activity is the foremost task of the foreign language lecturers. So there exists the interrelation between motivation and positive emotional state of the students.

Mastering professional foreign language is aimed at achieving efficient professional communication among specialists which makes it an important part of the whole educational process.

The Quality of modern education is determined not only by a certain set of knowledge acquired, but also by the specific individual characteristics which make a student capable of a constant informative dialogue.

Case method is used to form the whole complex of professional competences in the educational process and communicability and leadership are among them.

It is necessary to use such technology on the final stage of studying a particular topic when the student has already gained the specialized vocabulary and is able to discuss the professional issues.

Professional self-awareness recognizes the community of interests, forms the processes of social merging of groups and sustaining their stability. Professional self-awareness is linked with professional world-view and acts as an indicator for general ideology and a component of professional linguistic culture.

The research allows making the following conclusions:
1. case study is acknowledged to be one of the most effective individual-oriented teaching methods in professional linguistic education;
2. case study can be used at any level of language knowledge though at the low level the cases should be more detailed elaborated and based on the real business cases while at the higher levels students can rely on their own experience;
3. the method requires trainer’s awareness of the business problems which involves their constant further training.
