Abstract:
There’s a wide variety of different educational materials, which can be used in computer science education in schools. Some of these educational materials can consist of multimedia and interactive objects, some can be made only by basic text and pictures. In this paper are presented findings that were focused on the diversity of educational materials, which teachers prefer using in computer science’s subjects in schools. Also, the research involves the topic of how teachers proceed, when they are choosing an educational material from a foreign source. The data were collected by a questionnaire among Czech teachers of the second grade of elementary schools and its equivalent in grammar schools. Results show, that teachers are using a diversified group of educational materials, and the majority of teachers are using not only their educational materials but also educational materials from foreign sources. Based on the research, we can establish, which properties and criteria are most required, when teachers are choosing educational materials.
