Abstract:
The proposed study intended to measure the effect of self efficacy on academic achievement of students. A sample of (N=600) students was selected from different colleges and University of Sargodha (Punjab, Pakistan), through purposive sampling. The sample further divided into college students of (FA/F.sc) and university students of (MA/M.sc). Their age ranges from 16-24 years (M = 20.) Urdu version of the General Self-efficacy Scale developed by Rehman Schwarzer and Matthias (2003) administered on sample in order to measure their self efficacy while their academic achievement level obtained through their previous result. The results indicated that there is a positive correlation between self efficacy and academic achievement. Results also showed that academic success is high among male as students compare to female students while there is no difference seen in self efficacy among college and university students. Keywords:
