Abstract:
Entrepreneurship and industrial involvement are topical issues being promoted within the academic community. The purpose of the paper is to report on the experience of students, at the University of East London, who carried out entrepreneurial activities or were involved in industrial projects. The study will look at the experience of academic staff, support staff and students. The paper will also look at how industrial engagement can benefit student performance. The author will report on the challenges and the opportunities presented by funding schemes and will cover the wide variety of industrial interactions ranging from placement years to short term projects.
