Abstract:
Mainstreaming gender into the curriculum consists in presenting reality, involves incorporating the perspectives of gender roles and gender discrimination across the curriculum, including in courses on mathematics, social science, and science, etc., because that difference brings consequences and social effects.

Gender perspective should be considered throughout the curriculum, like Eurydice says (2010: 57) "gender equality is not a theme that should be treated by the school in isolation or during the teaching of a particular subject. Equality should be an interdisciplinary theme which teachers can develop within the context of their particular subject, confronting prejudice and promoting more gender-inclusive alternatives”

Gender Mainstreaming as a concept, starts in the Third World Conference on Women United Nations, held in 1985 in Nairobi (Kenya). The main concern that prompted the putting in scene of this principle was the lack of consideration of social and economic role of women, especially in developing countries. With this concept, was sought incorporate a gender perspective in the design of policies in those countries.

At 1997, ECOSOC (United Nations Economics and Social Council) defined gender mainstreaming as: “The process of assessing the implications for women and men of any planned action, including legislation, policies or programmes, in all areas and at all levels". It is a strategy with an integral dimension of the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and programmes in all political, economic and societal spheres so that women and men benefit equally and inequality is not perpetrated. The ultimate goal is to achieve gender equality.

The human being invests many years of his life in school, so it is the most important institution to train students in values. Gender issues are rarely implemented in curricula, but this topic es vitally important in order to reach gender equality.

In this paper, we present the main challenges in wanting to incorporate gender mainstreaming in the curriculum, specifically at the postgraduate programme, this is a current research that specifically, seeks incorporate mainstreaming gender in the curriculum of the Master of Science in Methodology of Sciences, of the Center for Economic, Administrative and Social Research of the National Polytechnic Institute / Mexico.

For this investigation were used documentary research techniques and on the other hand, was applied to students and teachers a questionnaire to identify trends in the case of from gender bias. Additionally they analyzed each of the 21 subjects that make up the curricula of this Master's degree. Then, results were analyzed for addressing gender mainstreaming and finally, to make proposals for incorporation at the educational curriculum.
