Abstract:
Description of the main objective of the study. The aim of the study is to systematically analyse the peculiarities of modern syncretic translation methods based on free and functional types in the teaching of English to bilingual students.

Brief description of the methodology. The study focuses on exploring the key features of the synthesis of two types of translation into English, revealing the positive and negative aspects of syncretic translation and identifying the place of synthesis of two or more translations in the learning process of first- and second-year students. The leading indicators of competence formation studied and described in the research work are primary and secondary motives for learning, personal attitudes, the basis of bilingual education, translation in professional teaching activities, translation in everyday life and cultural appropriateness of the synthesis of free and functional types of translation.

The empirical basis for the study is the educational institutions of higher education: Stavropol State Pedagogical Institute and North Caucasus Federal University. The proposed synthesis technique aims to consolidate students' professional self-development, self-improvement of translation skills and awareness of the importance of major subjects and interdisciplinary areas. The authors consider the modern translation technology of the Moscow School as the main translation technology, relying on the translation experience of specialists from the Stavropol region and knowledge of the students' creative abilities, actualised by studying English. In order to test the syncretic type of translation according to the author's technology, each bilingual student was given a professional case. As a methodology for assessing the general nature of activities, was chosen the methodology of A.G. Asmolov; the quality control of the translation was carried out based on the methods of A.V. Achkasov and S.V. Curls.

The generalisation of the most important research results and their significance. The prospect of the developed and studied didactic model is to improve the quality of bilingual education by using freestyle and functional types of translation and interactive learning technologies, involving following the Moscow tradition of translation. The competence of translation activities on the basis of the proposed technology in future specialists is confirmed by a decrease in the level of difficulty of perception of the English language from 62% to 48%, an increase in the quality of translation from 71% to 89% and an increase in curiosity and cognitive interest. An advanced level of translation after applying a set of methods and in a complex technology testifies to the effectiveness of the developed didactic model and research work.
