Abstract:
The study of temporal relations between actions has always been the focus of scientists' attention. In modern science, scientists are increasingly interested in studying this phenomenon and exploring the potential of non-finite verb forms in expressing temporal relations, which at first glance lack temporal meanings. The difficulty for foreign language learners is that in their native language, one or another temporal relation can be expressed directly by a finite verb, while in a foreign language, the same phenomenon can be conveyed through a non-finite form, or the transmission of temporal meanings by non-finite verb forms can be similar in their native and foreign languages, and disappear when an intermediary language is included in the learning system, for which this phenomenon may not be typical. The article examines the linguistic features of non-finite verb forms in the transmission of temporal relations and their impact on the success of learning a foreign language, possible difficulties and ways to overcome them, and also considers the use of clausal relations as a means of enriching and improving language skills. Keywords:
