Abstract:
Compared to the past, the specifics of the present day require an increase in adult education. Understandably, this specific segment feels many obstacles and limitations in a possible educational process. For these reasons, it is necessary to name and analyse these barriers. Then look for solutions that eliminate these barriers. The paper is devoted to the phenomenon of university study of adults. It takes into account the description and specifics of the issue, key education issues such as motivational factors and barriers to adult learning (situational, institutional, personal). The research part uses qualitative primary research, statistical methods and verification of hypotheses. The scientific conclusions refer to the diversity of factors (external and internal) influencing and hindering adult learning and their links with other variables that interfere with the interaction between learning subjects, motivation and self-confidence.
