Abstract:
The paper discusses the design and implementation of a research investigation into a schools-university partnership model. The research, funded by a Public Education Endowment Trust grant, was conducted from December 2012 to current. The research is longitudinal and tracks educational change as experienced by university academics, undergraduate pre-service teachers, early childhood practising teachers, school leaders and parents. A case study method is adopted to generate insights into a schools-university partnership model. The research explores the development of partnerships at macro- and micro- levels including decision-making processes that underpin the selection of hardware and software; shared leadership at participating organisations; and, involvement of all participants in developing their technological knowledge. The paper also discusses the sharing of pedagogical and technological knowledge between undergraduate pre-service teachers and practising teachers.
