That is why the aim of this paper is to identify research training strategies implemented by the coordinators of the different research hotbeds attached to Metropolitan Institute of Technology of Medellin (ITM). The proposed methodology is exploratory by a quantitative methodological design which it was carried out through the implementation of an online survey to research hotbeds tutors of Metropolitan Institute of Technology of Medellin. Through this online survey the research training strategies implemented by teachers, the type of information generated on participating research hotbed students, the academic mobility, strengthening of academic and research networks and the connection with degree work students‘ was evaluated.

Among the results, it shows that tutors displayed formative research as an opportunity to institute generational change, from talent, academic excellence and lifelong learning, with individuals who have the intelligence of themselves and the world that they belong to, which is in line with the pedagogical model and the institutional mission of ITM.
