Abstract:
The project “Education and Development of Research Team for Centre of Material Science Pardubice” is realized at the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic. This project was selected as one of the educational projects of the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness funded by European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic.
The aim of the project is professional education and development of research team specialized in materials sciences by the various ways. Project comprises of six work packages:
WP1: Theoretical and practical education by the Czech experts (in-house courses),
WP2: Theoretical and practical education by experts from abroad: European and non-European countries (in-house courses),
WP3: Short-time research fellowships in research centres and universities in Europe,
WP4: Active participation in international conferences,
WP5: Organization of conferences and research seminars,
WP6: Evaluation of educational activities.
Educational activities are aimed at material science, e.g. chemistry, solid state physics, optics, optoelectronics and nanomaterials. The target groups of the project are perspective researchers – young students of doctoral and master studies from University of Pardubice as well as post-docs and senior researchers. From the beginning of project (1st August 2009) more than three hundred researchers has been supported.
Project is strongly focused on cooperation with research centres and universities in Europe. Non-European cooperation is supported too, e.g. by lectures of respected experts from Japan, USA and Canada. Correlation of above stated educational activities contributes to synergetic effects and so increases the educational results.
Detailed description and analysis of educational activities and their results are stated in a paper. Evaluation of the educational activities from the economical point of view is also an integral part of the paper. Keywords:
Education, research, material science, networking.
