Abstract:
Robot education is a typical comprehensive education that combines mechanical design, computational thinking and three-dimensional design. This comprehensive education is playing an increasingly important role in the contemporary talent training process. This study analyzes the existing literature and finds some significant problems in the development of robot education in China, such as over-reliance on competition-driving and lack of knowledge structure design for the whole learning segment. However, VEX Academy has developed a complete robotics curriculum for preschool and K-12 based on the STEAM education concept. And after six years of rapid growth, there are 27 schools in VEX Academy. The study involved more than 5,200 students and 130 teachers in VEX Academy. Based on the perspective of STEAM integration, the study makes an in-depth analysis of VEX Academy's curriculum system from the aspects of curriculum system, curriculum design, integration of curriculum and competition by qualitative research methods, and explores its systematic design in the aspects of engineering education and human literacy, in order to provide reference for the development of robot education in China.
